Never before have we come across something so simple and fast, we had to share it here. It’s a one-egg omelette, served in a ramekin. Our source? Who else but that worldwide food influencer and chef-extraordinaire, Jose Andres.
I’ve seen omelette creations for eons, and I’m so set in my technique, it’s simply automatic to me.
But this is so disgustingly easy, the first bite was like an alien sighting. My mouth was agape–I was in pure shock. The flavors were melding, the mouthfeel was this indescribable texture…and it took less than three minutes from the time I entered my kitchen until I was forking pillows of heaven into my mouth.

Chef Jose Andres’ Recipe:
One large egg
A large spoonful of mayonnaise
A bit of butter or oil – not much, just a 1/4 teaspoons’ worth
Tiny bit of salt and pepper
Directions: whisk, whisk, whisk this vigorously in a bowl and pour into the ramekin and microwave for no more than 30-35 seconds.
Serve. That’s it–no joke.
Chef Andres’ video is utterly, ridiculously simple–see here–and he’s absolutely correct in saying this is “the best omelette in the history of mankind.” So tasty, buttery and sinfully rich, you’ll only want one…so beyond easy to make, you’ll file it away in your go-to recipes for omelettes. Throw on a sprinkle of Parmesano-Reggiano, chives…have at it!

What a great recipe! I tried it this morning right after I read this article and I could not believe how tasty it was. One egg, a little dollop of mayonnaise, whisk it good like I said. 35 seconds in the microwave and bingo!
